  • MEng Mechanical Engineering
  • BA (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (Cantab)

Henry is a member of the firm’s tech and engineering practice groups. Henry’s work focuses on patent prosecution.

Henry joined Swindell & Pearson after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Having followed a general course of study in the first two years of his degree, Henry has the benefit of a solid grounding across the full range of engineering disciplines. This broad base of knowledge enables him to support and advise clients on matters spanning a range of technical fields.

In his final two years of study, Henry specialised in mechanical engineering, studying key concepts to a much more advanced level. His MEng project entitled “Development of a powertrain control strategy for earth moving vehicles” was completed in association with JCB, where he gained significant industrial experience during his studies.

While at Cambridge, Henry was also the recipient of a number of awards, including the BP/IET Faraday Scholarship, the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s highest Undergraduate award.

Outside of work, Henry is a keen sportsman; he mainly enjoys football, cricket and swimming but will try his hand at anything! Since moving to Derby, he has become a regular matchday visitor to Pride Park (the home of Derby County FC) and is particularly eager to see if the Rams can win promotion back into the Premier League! Aside from sport, Henry is an enthusiastic cook and enjoys exploring the Peak District.
