Swindell & Pearson continues expansion plans with purchase of new building

September 06, 2016

Swindell & Pearson is delighted to announce that the company has expanded its Derby headquarters by purchasing Number 49 Friar Gate, located in the heart of Derby’s professional quarter. The three storey Grade II* Listed building (built around 1841) provides Swindell & Pearson with the perfect opportunity to continue its expansion plans.

IP Director Martin Terry commented: “We’re seeing increased demand in our intellectual property services with some impressive growth and new client acquisitions. It was most fortuitous that 49 Friar Gate, located right next door to our current premises, came on the market just at the right time as we were starting to look for additional office space.”

“Given our own historic roots here in Derby, we were pleased to be able to commit to the city and its professional quarter with the purchase of this property. It’s great to have a property with character and quite a lot of history – much like our firm! We are now undertaking extensive refurbishment of the property, which has seen some unique uses over the years having variously served as premises to: a school of music, a laser skin clinic and a hotel - it even has a basement bar. Though unfortunately our refurbishment plans don’t include keeping the bar!”
