Swindell & Pearson will be supporting The Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre as its Official Charity

The Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre (DCHC) is a Derby based registered charity that provides Derbyshire children experiencing difficult times in their life with a week-long holiday at its holiday centre in Skegness.
Each season (between the start of April and the end of October) up to 660 children, aged between seven and thirteen, will visit for a week taking part in fun and challenging activities, meeting new people, and learning valuable skills.
The charity provides children, some of whom come from vulnerable backgrounds, a welcome break in which to relax. It also offers parents and guardians a respite, safe in the knowledge that their children are being well looked after. In 2015, the year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the charity was awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service; the highest award given to volunteer groups throughout the UK.
Supporting the fantastic work of the DCHC is a part of our firm’s local community investment strategy and is a great opportunity for us to give something back to a city in which we’ve been based for almost 140 years. The total cost for providing one holiday is £575 which we’ve initially committed to raising over the next 12 months.
After meeting with Chairman of the DCHC Bill Tomlinson and his team, Marketing Manager at Swindell & Pearson, Mahir Raoof said: “The work that the DCHC does within the local community is truly wonderful and we’re proud to help support the charity with its fundraising”.
