A Tournament of Innovation

This month, 32 nations will come together in Russia to compete for the biggest prize in world football. Whilst Brazil, Germany and Spain are considered among the favourites to be crowned champions on the 15th July, we thought we’d look at how the 32 nations competing in this year’s tournament fared on innovation.

Brexit and European Union Trade Marks and Community Designs – Swindell & Pearson Webinar

Following the most recent round of talks in the Brexit negotiations between the UK government and the EU, a draft Withdrawal Agreement has been published which includes articles relating to Intellectual Property rights. In addition to putting together a paper summarising the key points from the Agreement, Patent and Trade Mark Attorney Antony Gallafent recently hosted a webinar on Intellectual Property rights between the UK and the EU and how they may look post Brexit.

Swindell & Pearson Knowledge Centre - Patent Licensing

Recently, IP Director Paul Higgin delivered a practical workshop on patent licensing. Paul has been involved in many global patent licensing negotiations, in his previous role of Senior IPR Counsel at Nokia and in his current role at Swindell & Pearson and so has considerable experience on the subject. Paul’s workshop considered risk mitigation and value enhancement around patent licensing while helping to avoid issues with EU or UK competition law.
