Elizabeth is a member of the firm’s tech and engineering practice groups. Her work focuses on patent prosecution.
Elizabeth joined Swindell & Pearson after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering. After gaining a firm base in a range of engineering disciplines, Elizabeth specialised in manufacturing engineering during her her final two years of university, studying key commercial and industrial concepts and undertaking several factory-based placements.
Elizabeth’s MEng project, entitled “Exploring strategic decision making and selection criteria motives for technology projects at the front end of innovation”, gave her the opportunity to interview experts from a range of industries, both within the UK and abroad, to understand their experiences and attitudes towards early-stage technology development. This project, along with her factory-based work, has enabled her to collaborate productively with stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds.
Elizabeth is a keen musician and when not at work can usually be found looking for new music to listen to and share. She also enjoys art, both traditional and more unusual, and since moving to Derby has enjoyed looking for its hidden artistic and architectural surprises!
