University of Wolverhampton’s Smart Concept Fund renews its relationship with Swindell & Pearson

December 16, 2020

Swindell & Pearson is delighted to announce that we’ve again been appointed to provide funded intellectual property (IP) services to Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs), with funding coming from the University of Wolverhampton’s Smart Concept Fund.

The Smart Concept Fund offers a Proof of Concept grant designed to support the commercialisation of new technologies.

The fund will run until at least July 2023 with an optional further extension.

It is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and is available for qualifying SMEs based in the Black Country, The Marches or Stoke on Trent and Staffs.

We have supported the scheme since 2017 and have filed several patent and design applications. The scheme reduced the cost of securing IP protection, helping to lower barriers to growth.

The University of Wolverhampton also runs an innovation funding scheme for local businesses, called the Science in Industry Research Centre (SIRC).

To register your interest, you can make an enquiry directly with the Smart Concept Fund or SIRC. If you speak with us, we can also put you in touch.

If you have any questions with regards to this article or how Swindell & Pearson can help you and your business with intellectual property, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the author Tim Gilbert or call +44 1332 367 051.
