Exam success at Swindell & Pearson

July 06, 2018

We’re delighted to announce that Associate Tim Gilbert has passed his recent set of qualifying exams and has now become a European Patent Attorney.

Tim joined Swindell & Pearson in 2013 after completing a PhD at the University of Birmingham in Civil Engineering. Prior to this Tim obtained a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering at the same university.

Commenting on his exam success, Tim said: “I’m very happy with the results. My approach to these exams was to over-prepare, just in case. Sure enough, this year was exceptionally difficult and so it was great to pass. The additional free time is welcomed, although I’m a lifelong learner so it wasn’t long before I picked up some books on blockchain and jet engines”.

IP Director Paul Higgin commented: “Swindell & Pearson is committed to developing experienced and expert attorneys. Passing the large set of professional examinations is an important part of that process. Well done to Tim”.

Tim works for multinational companies, universities and innovative SMEs. His specialisms include transport technologies, building technologies, advanced manufacturing and advanced engineering, environmental technologies, energy generation, and defence and securities.
